Our Culture
What we believe in
All too often a business’ values represent big bold statements and big bold words, usually written in big bold letters on a wall and then forgotten about.
At CTS our values are core to the way we interact with each other, our clients and the world around us.
They’re what we live by and inform how we do business.
Our Values
-
Get Involved
From the bottom to the top, we don't treat anyone differently. We roll up our sleeves and help out, knowing others would do the same for us. We share and consider each other’s thoughts, listening and trusting that we will be listened to. We don't expect people to be mind readers.
-
Appreciate Others
We know that work is only one aspect of our lives We’re more than colleagues. We treat each other as equals and consider our actions and how they will impact others around them. We celebrate each other's successes. We support our local communities with volunteering and fundraising, as well as supporting our colleagues in need.
-
Crack On
We don’t wait around. We know who needs to have input and when we seize opportunities and make decisions quickly. If things go wrong, we fix them.
-
Try New Things
Learning is at our core and we’re not afraid to try something new. If it works that’s great and it doesn’t that’s fine too, either way, we’ve gained knowledge to share and can grow professionally. We challenge thoughts in a constructive way We strive to not only keep pace with our surroundings but innovate to drive things forward.
Diversity, Equity & Inclusion
As part of our drive to always appreciate others, we drive initiatives to not only make our company a better place, but to make our industry better too!
Quite frankly, we understand the current state of our industry, and we’re not proud of it. But in true CTS style; when we don’t like what we see - we do something about it!
We know we can’t change the world overnight, but we’ve created a long term plan owned by our people.
-
We invest in developing people both internally and externally to our company.
Internally, we run a ton of career development initiatives such as our ‘Elevate’ programme preparing those in under represented groups (URGs) for Leadership.
Externally, we build long lasting Partnerships with URG networks offering opportunities to support via mentorships and to inspire future technologists of all backgrounds with talks and training.
-
We believe that without listening to each other; there’s little to gain from diversifying the industry. Whilst it’s not always the most comfortable topic to talk about we’ve made commitments to improve the conversation;
- Our DEI workshops are designed not to teach the ‘right’ way but to encourage conversation about DEI issues, and to convey why it’s so important not to brush them under the carpet. We are working to have everyone at our business (from the board to the apprentices!) experience these sessions.
- Our DEI community is committed to driving ideas into action. Have a suggestion to make the workplace more inclusive? Need someone to push it forward? That’s what we’re here for.
-
We believe that everyone is responsible for driving change; as such we measure and share our progress on initiatives and commitments on a regular basis. And if we go quiet; anyone in the business can ask for an update.
What does DEI mean to our employees?
-
'It means having the knowledge and confidence that I am safe coming to work in my own literal and metaphorical skin. Locs, tattoos, accents, mannerisms, colloquialisms, foreign smell foods (within reason!), opinions, interests and expression'

-
It is about creating a culture where everyone has a voice, everyone is treated as an equal and everyone can be themselves at work. Where differences and diversity can be celebrated
